DATING TIP: Hold the door for your date. Rip the door off its hinges. Use the door as a weapon to fight off other men. Establish dominance.

There's a black boy at my school, and he honestly takes white people saying 'nigga' better than most of tumblr. He just gets their attention, and says "You're not black. You've never had that shouted at you from across the street. So shut up". And then he forgives them afterwards if they admit it was wrong to say. Notice how he DOESN'T turn it into "STFU WHITE SCUM YOU'VE NEVER BEEN OPPRESSED"

God, so many people need to take a leaf out of that awesome bloke’s book. Why is it so hard for people to not make everything a drama-filled angst orgy, I wonder?

It’s a gross assumption that everyone should have the same reaction to a slur or harassment. What works for one person, doesn’t work for another and racial slurs hurt people. I’m Black, if I’m called the n word or someone uses in my vicinity, and they’re white, it’s an immediate write off. White people know the slurs if offensive and they choose to use it.

Don’t use on example of a single Black person of what every Black person should do, especially if you’ve never been targeted by a racial slur, the n word in particular.

No one says “stfu white scum you’ve never been oppressed.” It’s an egregious embellishment that depersonalizes the situation and the person in it, dehumanizing them.

But… if you’re attacked and dehumanized by a slur and you get angry then, it’s now justified? What a hypocrite.

People get called racial slurs everyday and eventually it wares a person down, and just because they don’t want to tolerate abuse and dehumanizing language in their presence doesn’t make them “drama filled.”

The more I look at the this blog, the more I see it as justification to attack Black and other PoC on this site because they don’t react how a select few PoC want them to react or white people who’ve never been targeted by the n word telling Black people how to react.

I don’t and no one else has to forgive or give the time of day to someone who uses racial slurs, period.

Everyone has the right to not be called things like that, and everyone has the responsibility to protect everyone’s rights and that means if some “kid” is saying something without knowing the full ramification of it, then their IS a responsibility to explain why it’s wrong not just hate that person. I don’t care if it’s another white person, anyone in ear shot has that responsibility because education and explanation are the best tools in fixing issues.  That’s why social responsibility and accountability works and tumblrs brand of “social justice” doesn’t.
